Everything about this car oozes awesome, from the fender mounted side mirrors to the fender flares. What really gives this car personality is the bosozoku-inspired external oil cooler with the classic stainless-line-through-a-headlight. This is why oldschool cars have so much flair.
I loved these fucking things. Friend of mine had a ‘77 and a ‘79. Though I have to admit, they didn’t look so good…
what are you talking about? it’s beautiful.
hey liam, what dwindle is talking about is the fact that his friend’s ‘77 & ‘79 didn’t look as good as the one above. figure out how to dissect sentences and understand what people are saying before you go making yourself look like an ass. ass. nice celica by the way!

car
what are the pipes for
also my first memory is being in a garage with my dad looking at his yellow ford celcia
The pipes run to an intercooler, which seems absurd to have on a 2.2l engine, but what do I know. These things had the 22R engine, didn’t they?
The mirrors aren’t on a fender flare, they are on the fender. The flares are a extruded bits around the wheel well.
I’m not so sure about the braided flexible hoses on the outside of the car like that. At least run them behind the bumper, or solid pipe them back there. Those have got to be flapping in the wind at speed. Otherwise, sharp looking car.
The hoses are to the external oil cooler.. that’s not an intercooler.
The period appropriate swap was a 2/3v Toyota V8 out of the Toyota Century(I think, correct me if I’m wrong, please).
Right now, the popular swap is the infamous 2jz-gte out of the ‘93-’98 Supra.
This car is really neat, but I’m a ‘70-’78 Datsun Z fan, myself. I swapped a Chevy 350 into a ‘76 Z and it’s lightning fast.
Brilliant car. I love the look of these.
The external oil cooler and lines are hardcore JDM. This car was going for just that. Oldskool JDM styling was well applied to this car.
its a cult classic love it
