Some Reader Support

It’s definitely a good feeling seeing some people out there showing some love for this website. The primary motivation behind all this is, hopefully, to give all you that visit something interesting to read about and look at. Here are a few pictures I’ve gathered of people repping a GrandMighty sticker, thanks again for the support!

While we’re all out of the original white stickers you see in the following pictures, something special will be coming very soon. Another variant of GrandMighty.com stickers are planned as well!

H+son EERO

Ever since H+son realeased their rims, they’ve been part of the talk of the fixed gear wheel world ever since. I remember a little more than a year ago ( maybe more. maybe less) when I first discovered these wheels, all I thought to myself was, ” wow, now thats a DEEEEEEEEEP V”. Virtually being double the depth of a Velocity deep v. The hype began and everyone started purchasing these rims overseas. Dishing out about $45 more per rim than a Deep v. Then sadly an unfortunate incident occurred. A rim exploded, and was blogged about on about every single fixed gear/ track bike blog in the world. H+ did their homework and made some adjustments and to my knowledge, that is the only rim failure they have received.

With all of these super deep v’s being released such as the velocity B43s, H+ plus sons formation face and SL42, and now our friends over at IminusD , many of the “fixed gear freestyle” riders out there simply say, make a wider rim, and I’ll ride them.As what everyone said about the velocity deep v. With wider rims being the answer to the beads of the tires popping off from doing tricks such as flatground 540s.  So velocity re-released and somewhat improved one of their older rims, the chukker. Gnarcotix is currently riding the IminusD rims, and many velocity sponsors such as Chris Fonseca and other No Cassettes Riders are riding the B43s and Chukkers.

Now H+son has once again made an attempt to be at the top of the charts with their newest release. The EERO ( pronounced air-0, weird I know, then again its coming from a company called H+ son)

fld3qcdpiujm

43.333333 mm deep. That is about .333333 mm deeper than a b43 and 1.33333 than their previous rims. Also it is 22mm wide which is about 2mm wider than their formation face and sl42.

The velocity chukker wins the battle of width with a measurement of 24mm wide.

I think these things are pretty cool. Just hoping that they don’t “taco” again.

Arrival of the ‘10 GT3 RS

There’s something about the raw, responsive power of a naturally-aspirated flat-six engine. Not many cars exist that can do it better than the race-oriented Porsche 997 GT3 RS. The new, revamped 2010 model of the GT3 RS is now here, and it’s a sexy machine indeed. The color schemes are still loud as ever. Enjoy the pictures.

The Return of the Forums

A couple months ago when the site was still fairly young, I put up some Forums, but unfortunately that wasn’t in good timing so the plug was pulled.

After its hiatus, I brought it back online today with much better software than the first iteration. Regardless, click on over and sign up! Registration is super simple for the time being, no need for any e-mail validation. Hopefully the Forums will give the site a community to build on. forumspic

Happy Sticker Recipients

Thanks to everyone who showed interest in one of these GRANDMIGHTY die-cut stickers. We still have a bunch left, so contact me if you want one! Simply send me a Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope and I will return it to you with a sticker inside for free.

I’ve handed a few of these out already, and was able to snap a photo of some of the happy customers. A couple people have already sent me an SASE, and those were sent out in the mail last week.

As work continues on the website, expect a return to the Forums in the near future!

Introduction: Manny

I bought a polished Sugino Zen chainring off of Eric about a couple of months ago. Didn’t know much about him. Now I’m here introducing myself as a blogger on his website.

I hope everyone will enjoy all of the crap that I feel is necessary for the world to know about.

Now I guess it’s time for an intro.
My name is Manny.

That is my car. Just got a new paintjob. Maaco. Cheap.

One of those bikes is also mine. The Cinelli to be exact.

That’s all. For now.

You’ll hear more from me soon.

GRANDMIGHTY Stickers are Here!

It took a bit of motivation and push to find a supplier that could make these, but atleast they’re finally here. They’re high quality, die-cut stickers and 7″ wide. Normally, I’d like to try and sell these for a minimal fee just to balance the cost of production, but instead I’m just going to give them away for free.

Grab one while you can! If you’re not local, just contact me and send a Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope (SASE).

Red Italian Flair

As a throwback to the oldschool classics, here’s one of my favorite cars. You can really appreciate the sense of styling and overall conception of a sports car with this Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. With all the sweeping curves, the Stradale is a fine example of craftsmanship from a bygone era… rarely seen nowadays with all the composite, econo-oriented tin cans.

The Alfa Romeo was a light-weight contender at 1500lbs and a high-revving machine. It’s 2.0L V-8 produced 230BHP at 8800RPM, with a peak redline of 10,000RPM. Another interesting statistic of the car is it’s low stack roof height, at only 39″. Getting burgers from a drive-thru with this thing might require some reaching.

New Bike Day

After my unfortunate Head-Downtube incident, I was without a track frame for a while. I recently (yesterday) got a new track frame, it is a Rush Hour Pro, and Velospace informs me that this one is a 2008 prototype non-production frame. It rides and feels like the sturdiest aluminum bike I’ve been on, and I’m very happy with it!

Sugino 75, Phil Wood, typical stuff on a SF rider!

Rust Bucket Redefined

I’m not entirely sure how to grasp the total image of this car, but it is unique to say the least. The body of the BMW looks like it was dumped into a vat of battery acid. I’m guessing the smashed windshield and whatever that random vise grip is holding on adds to the style… At first glance, I was going to just shrug it off as another car bound for the junkyard, but the fact that it has a set balling 18″ BBS RS’s changed my mind. That makeshift, lowriding trailer being pulled has a pair of 17″ BBS RS’s, you can never have too many of those wheels.

GT5 (the full version) vs Forza 3

> GT5

> Forza 3

Discuss. I personally think GT5 trailer just shat on the Forza 3 trailer.  Now vehicle dynamics?  We are going to have to wait on that.
Notables:

GT5 has real licensed leagues (WRC–woohoo!  Nascar–eh.)
GT5 has finally introduced crashes into their game.

Forza3 brought HD.
Have added drifting and rally.

E30 M3 with the Lurking V8

This is probably what you do when you really want to elevate your ///M factor. Drop in a crazy  S62 M5 motor into a stripped E30 M3 chassis. Grade A job on the wheel fitment and selection too. I wonder what the weight distribution is with that huge powerplant sitting under the hood, but who cares when its got a freakin’ twin turbo BMW V8.

Before the white paint job and the time-attack schemed BBS’s:
