ahh, so i just came back from long beach to visit heather since i have no gas in my FC. =P so the alternative? my trustworthy 80’s bike. a lil’ background info on this bike…
how i got the bike was a simple story of just going to my grandma’s house and seeing it in the garage. supposedly it was my uncle’s and he planned on sending it to the Philippines (but how would they even ride that on dirt over there?) but i offered to fix it up then buy it from him. might as well put good use to it to exercise, right? anyway, it’s in my hands now. =]
here are some pics of the bike…
(jaime hiding behind the Gardena sign. lol)
so far, i’ve biked to and through Long Beach, Wilmington, Carson, San Pedro, Torrance, Gardena, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Huntington Beach. and i still hope to take this bike to many other places. =] it’s a good way of exercising (and saving gas for those who own cars. =P)
here’s a map so you can have a rough idea of the area’s i’ve been through
it’s a KHS Turbo John Howard model bike. 52 cm i believe. with some rough research on google, it was released in the 80’s. it’s pretty retro with it’s design and is also 12 speed. i pretty much just got a seat from Alvaro (much thanks) and replaced the tires and tubes. it can use a lil’ more tune ups like the gear changer and brakes but it still manages to get me from point A to B. one day though, it’ll be as fresh as it was in the bike store when i get the chance to give the tune up.
until then, i’ll continue biking the South Bay and beyond. =P and if you do see me on the road (usually around Carson), feel free to say hi. lol shoot, if you want to go on a biking adventure, i’m always down. feel free to hit me up.
cheers.
