went to replace the screw that holds the bass pedal and chain together.

here’s Mario’s semi-old school  bass pedal.

here’s my pedal just for kicks.

i personally like the turbo sprocket over the accelerator sprocket because it has a consistent feel to the attack. my DW 5000 bass pedal has the accelerator sprocket.

here’s some info i snatched from Drum Workshop’s website.

The Accelerator™ (AD3) drive system offers an eccentric motion that creates an indirect relationship between the sprocket and the footboard, increasing the velocity of the pedal by shortening the length of the stroke. It is recommended for situations that require increased speed and sensitivity.
The Turbo™ (TD3) concentric drive system maintains a direct relationship between the sprocket and the footboard to provide a solid, powerful, consistent feel and response.

i guess you gotta be a drummer to know and feel the difference between the two. =P

anyway, i went to Home Depot to replace the screw and nut that fell off Mario’s DW bass pedal. i basically neglected it for a good while until i convinced myself today to go to Home Depot to replace those parts.

^ scooped up a bag of these suckers.

in the end, i paid $0.98 + tax for ‘em all! they’re usually $2 or more but i guess they’re trying to get rid of ‘em.

^ brought $2.25 with me in change. ended up using only $1.25. =]

aside from the exercise i got today, i’m finally able to use this pedal again! time to bust some single pedal chops for this weekend’s Confirmation Retreat. ^__^

cheers!
